The 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a multinational compass for developing a more peaceful and just world. They are to be achieved globally and by all UN member states by 2030. This means that all states are equally called upon to work together to solve the world’s pressing challenges. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals take into account the economic, social and environmental dimensions of this task in a balanced way and bring together poverty reduction and sustainable development in one agenda for the first time.
