Even though the artistic design and the charisma of the photo festival set high international benchmarks, it is driven along by Zurich residents. The cultural, touristic and economic benefit for the city of Zurich is close to our hearts as co-creators.
The foundation of open your eyes is a supporting association. This core structure is responsible for the artistic and organisational concept.
This association is open to all who are passionate about the festival. Through the association structures, all partners and sponsors can also be involved, the association supports the individual events of the festival partners and brings visitors, partners and artists together.
The management of the association is held by Hansruedi Strasser (president), Silvia and Lois Lammerhuber.
All questions of responsibilities and liabilities are regulated in the statutes of the association.
Hansruedi Strasser (CH)
is a man of business. Planning and coordinating challenging projects are his world. Rolling budgeting for complex processes is as much a part of his daily routine as bringing the interests of public authorities and the business community to a common denominator. His attachment to the cultural diversity of the city of Zurich is well known. As one of Zurich’s guild masters, he is passionately involved in the city’s social and economic events.
Silvia Lammerhuber (A)
is the managing director and owner of the publishing house Edition Lammerhuber, which specialises in the creation of unusual photo books. Three times in a row Edition Lammerhuber was voted best photo book publisher in Europe by the Federation of European Photographers. Many books have won awards, including the Art Directors Club New York and the German Photo Book Award. Since 2018, Silvia Lammerhuber has been co-responsible for the La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival, one of the largest open-air photo festivals worldwide.
Lois Lammerhuber (A)
has been voted the best photographer in the world three times. To date, he has published 84 books and 1.000 magazine stories. Together with Silvia Lammerhuber he runs the publishing house Edition Lammerhuber. Seven years ago, he founded the Global Peace Photography Award. Since 2018, he has been responsible for the La Gacilly-Baden Photo festival as director. Lammerhuber has been a member of the Art Directors Club New York since 1994. He has been awarded over 200 prizes, including the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art I Class.
