LEICA – Photo Project „Rock ’n’ Old“

-

Family Affairs. An evening with Esther Haase and family

The photographer caused a sensation with her extraordinarily original long-term photo project „Rock ’n‘ Old“, which began back in the 90s. Full of joie de vivre and energy, aged models present lavish couture in surprising locations in this powerful series, including some creations from Vivienne Westwood’s master class. The series presented at the festival impressively proves that even an advanced age leaves room for creativity and new experiences. Over the years, the project has had several famous patrons, including Iris Berben, Hannelore Hoger, Sonja Kirchberger, Gudrun Landgrebe, Nena…

Esther Haase also brought her parents to the panel discussion: Fritz Haase, professor (emeritus) of photography and communication design, and Sibylle Haase-Knels, designer and illustrator. With their „Atelier für Gestaltung“, which has existed since 1963, they still work as innovative communication designers today. The importance their parents had on their professional path and the role the interplay of generations plays in their work will be revealed by Esther Haase in conversation with her parents and Karin Rehn-Kaufmann.
