On the evening of March 20, 2024, the Austrian Art Sponsorship Award MAECENAS was presented for the 35th time by the independent business committee „Initiatives Business for Art“ at the Anantara Palais Hansen.
The 15 nominees in five categories were presented on stage. In the „Small and medium-sized enterprises“ category, Edition Lammerhuber was delighted to receive the Maecenas Recognition Award for open your eyes Fotofestival Zürich 2023.
The project was presented to the enthusiastic audience with an ORF report filmed in Zurich during the festival and explained with the following wording: In Zurich, the open-air gallery „open your eyes“ could be admired in the fall of 2023. The Lower Austrian photographer and publisher Lois Lammerhuber is responsible for the festival. Together with photographers from all over the world, the aim was to raise awareness of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. As he did in Baden with the Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo, Lammerhuber is now enchanting Zurich’s city center. Spacious open-air installations combine photography and scientific knowledge in 17 exhibition islands to make a plea for peace and tolerance. The aesthetic magic of the pictorial narratives transformed the gardens, streets and squares of Zurich into a city of images. The aim was to invite visitors to engage with the challenging issues of our time in a sensual way.
Edition Lammerhuber has thus created a new narrative style. The jury praised the festival as a new communication format and a creative collaboration between art, science and business.
